Interesting review.

It's a pity this anime is always compared to Evangelion... well I never like the older one while I really appreciate this one. I especially love the episode with Ayato's female childhood friend.

I also agree with most of your detailed review. Even if I also think that the beginning seems too much a ripping of the prequel (stolen gundam, pursuit in the space...). I have enjoyed this anime but at the end, it lacks too mcuh what I call the fundations since the story is nice to watch but when we think about it there are discrepancies, even contrary things, so I was really unsatisfied by the end.

But the new characters were interesting. I really like Meer or Stellar. A pity most of them seem to be used just to make the old characters appearing better. Towards the last episodes, I was hoping to see one member of the old cast, any member, would be killed but unfortunately it seemed that the producer was forbidden to kill any of them. '

Destiny has succeeded to make me disliking some of the old chara, especially Kira (annoyingly god-like) and Cagalli (probably a clone of the real one)... well I never really like Lacus (annoyingly goddess-like).

Good review. I really like this anime (really more than the manga but maybe it's because I read the manga after watching the anime). One of the thing that I really like is the awesome role of Al, it's nice too hear and see that he's actually a young boy even in this body (great seyuu and adequate portraying). Even if I like better Ed.

I love this anime too. But since it's a shoujo and not a shonen romance, it isn't surprising to see more boys than girls.

Personnally, I would still recomend this anime for anyone (well it's nice to change and at least it isn't about a soapy romance so I don't think that it would make some people run away... at least not that quickly) *grins*

But I do like better the subbed version. I have watched some eps of the french version and it quite puzzled me that Yuki has the more male voice, quite annoyingly Tohru's french voice lacked variety in her game and just stressed her high spirit, not her sadness, doubts and hesitations.

Interesting review... Thanks for making so many relevant points. But it's sometimes confusing when you speak about the anime (which differs from the manga, worse artwork and more annoyingly at least for the 15 first eps really too many fillers). I am not really sure that having a female as the english voice for Naruto is that bad, there are many talented japanese female that are the seyuu of young boys.

Actually their job isn't just about murdering people. When did Naruto kill his first "victim" ?

Even if I'm surprised you didn't write a lot about the lame ending. GSD seems too much for me as a pretty house without proper fundations. And I don't even think I'm someone really hard to please .

Anyway I think that in at least a book of GS (and an article of... probably Newtype), we could see HIS face.

I really like Shinkai no Kodoku but it's true that Rie Tanaka's songs were nice... I was really fond of Meer.

I have forgotten to say that I really like Nina while I neither felt moved by any Hime heroins. So I've thougth that maybe they were better making relationships that were a little shown than the more obvious one (I didn't like at all the square (Mai-Tatte-sausagesGirl-VicePresident))

Interesting review even if I think the first lines stick too much to the first chapters. It's probably a little better not to have romance... even if I suppose that Hotta Yumi wouldn't bring it as awkardly than the romance in Captain Tsubasa.

Hikago is my favourite manga... I was too quite surprised to hear about its ending, reading few rumours about it. But the end itself wasn't that bad, it's really an open ending... and I was quite surprised that other readers really did want to see the God's hand.

That's a nice review even if I'm a little perplexed with the "shoujo" design... probably cause I don't find it really pretty and closer to some shonen romance than to shoujo.

Oddly enough, I wasn't interested by any Mai-Otome track even though I'm a great fan of Yuki Kajiura (I absolutely love Ensei and It's only a fairy tale).

MaiOtome begins quite well (while I got bored during the first eps of MaiHime).

I though the ending was quite disappointing cause well it seems so unbalanced and its moral is quite flawed (really happy ending for almost everyone no matter what bad things they have done).

Interesting review even though I think you were quite harsh sometimes... I really liked the story and I find it surprising... can't say the same of Destiny, but it makes me wonder if I have seen some previous Gundam (just seen Wing), I would have seen this sense of rip-off. At the same time, I feel it goes deeper by speaking about different topics like genetic modifications, intolerance...

That's a really well-written and enthousiastic review. I have watched the first season and I like it even though I couldn't really understand why. But I have sometimes the feeling that you don't have to dig too much as long as you feel the magic.

That's a great review. Genshiken isn't the kind of anime that can be viewed by everyone except if you want to convince your parents or friends that are not interested by that you are really weird.

I like this anime, it's nearly a kind of private joke.

That's a really enthousiastic and well-written review and I understand that, FMA is an awesome anime.

I really like the seyuus. But I think the artwork is so-so but the animation is great.

There's still a thing that doesn't make me sense with me with Dante and what her more recent body. It seems for me that the two -the old woman and the relatively young one - were Dante at the same time... I must have missed something.

You seem really enthusiastic. I didn't really liked it except the... I don't know 6, 7 last eps. One of my relative buy the manga but I'm catching it up slowly, I like better read again some other mangas.

I think it's a really clever story (by a new author) supported by a great artist.

But there are moments where I'm not that enthousiastic about it. By example just after the first chapter I want to buy the manga, but now I'm ok with the idea of letting my sister buying it.

"If you can tell what character you are looking at from their silhouette, you know you have a good character design." -> could be said of Pokemon.

But I don't think this quote could be quite true... that can also depend on the type of drawing, I guess that more realistic chara could be harder to differenciate that way.

Nice review... even if I wonder how much of the english adaptation can explain the marks (especially for sounds, stories and presentation). I've watched it (subtitled) quite recently knowing there was a hype around it and I wasn't disappointed. Now my 3rd fave anime.

I really like the seyuus. Ed and Al's ones were great, well I did like Ed's one and I feel Al's one made an impressive job to portray the feelings young boy trapped in a less expressive big body.

I think it's a coherent and deep plot (actually there's only a thing I feel is wrong), even if I was quite surprised by Nina's death.

Well, that's incredible how I agree with you. Except that I don't wonder if the anime was aimed for a younger audience, it is without a doubt. I have enjoyed the anime... well more the end cause I was ready to give up after 13 episodes since the story is so diluted.

I have enjoyed this anime. A pity it wasn't really recognized cause some branded it as an Evangelion clone. The end was really open and I think it let the viewers speculate a little about the story.

But I haven't seen the movie... even if I like "Tune the Rainbow".

Nice review. True that Mitsuki's voice is unfitting (that's what disappointed me)... but I think that there are too many fillers and it's just in the end it's more interesting... even if I like what Madoka has brougth.

I like better the manga... especially the artwork. But the songs are great (well not the rock ones), I really like Eternal Snow.

That's a nice review. I don't think that the art is really different from Hikago (I mean the last books of Hikago, it just seem that Obata has just continued to draw).

I did like a lot DeathNote at the beginning, so I'd put it on my list of mangas to buy (and there's not even 10 titles on it even if I've read more than 200 different titles).
The psychology/philosophy was really intriguing, it has reminded me of the invisible ring of... errr... Plato, Socrate ?

Chobits came first. I read the manga... cause it's a Clamp. There are nice ideas in it, like the relationships, the place of technology

Nice review. But there are two ost, I think. I've watched the anime, I think animation was correct but not great, there are even eps that appear worse. I really like better the manga, cause some of the funny little scenes between Sai and Hikaru weren't animated.

That's a really nice review... but I wouldn't say racism was the main theme. War, genetics are also important ones. GS is my second fave anime, and it's kind of interesting to see that the explanations come pretty long after the beginning (about how coordinators were created).
